Welcome to the Ministry of Labor

Minister of Labor Yim Tae Hee

The main objective of labor policy is to provide more and better jobs for people who have to work to live, people who want to work and people who are currently working.

The Korean government has been making various efforts to make Korea a leading advanced country which creates jobs and increases workers' happiness through corporate and economic development.

As last year's global economic crisis resulted in an employment crisis entailing massive job losses, countries all over the world faced the challenge of overcoming the crisis through job retention and creation.

Korea was not an exception, either. However, thanks to the active efforts of all parts of society including the government, Korea is considered to be coming out of the crisis fastest among OECD member countries.
